Outreach Ideas
- http://csi.dcs.gla.ac.uk/index.php: “An online resource to bring Computing Science alive.” Developed by Quentin Cutts, who has visited Purdue in the past. Email from Susanne Hambrusch, 11/30/06. Hosts workshops for teachers and activities for students. Example include file compression and predictive text typing (e.g., on a cell phone).
- Consider buying in to the Science Express van fleet. Could deliver laptops for K-12 presentations. Could deliver cluster rack for science experiments (teacher workshop during summer, then loan of 1-2 weeks during year).
- Tap in to the Honeywell FMA Live program somehow. Email from Lori DelGiudice, 4/5/07.
- Look for ideas at the University of Washington CS 4 HS program that is similar to our Linking Workshop.
